HP’s first impressions of the VP9 are HERE!
So, by now you’ve probably heard that H&K is coming out with a striker-fired gun. They were the first to do it, so maybe they’re tired of seeing other companies eat up the market share up with their concept. But in any case, for those of you who haven’t heard, here it is: the VP9. The news seems to be everywhere, so rather than restate it all, here are the main points:
- Striker-fired (okay, it’s obvious, but apparently it’s a big deal)
- MSRP of $719 (hopefully street price won’t be over $650)
- P30 magazine compatibility (this is a big plus)
- P30 ergonomics
- Chambered in 88 magnum…err…9mm
Although there isn’t anything about the VP9 on the HK-USA website, the projected release date seems to be hovering around late June with July delivery. We’ll get our hands on one as soon as possible, and be sure to post more after we have the chance to shoot one. If H&K can deliver the much-improved trigger they’ve promised at a sub-$700 price point, they may have a real winner on their hands. Heads up, everyone: H&K emailed out the VP9 press kit this morning, so we’ll post some more pics of the VP9 sometime today.
